Irene L. Anderson, a resident of the Strasburg Care Center, formerly of Bismarck, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2016 at the care center. Funeral services will be Monday, October 17, 2016 at 10:00 a.m., at Faith Lutheran Church, Bismarck, with Pastor Jon Splichal Larson officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, October 16, 2016 at Myers Funeral Home, Linton, where there will be a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue for one hour before service time at the church on Monday. Irene was born January 12, 1930, at home on a farm near Hull, ND, to Aren and Hattie (Haveman) Hollaar. She attended rural schools and helped on the family farm. Irene moved to Bismarck in 1951 and began her employment at Bismarck Hospital, as a dietary assistant. She continued her employment there until 1961. Irene married Percy Anderson on April 20, 1956 in Mandan, ND. Percy passed away in November, 1996. She was employed again for Bismarck Hospital/Medcenter One from 1973-1993. Irene appreciated an assortment of music and sang with various music groups in the Bismarck area. Family was important to Irene. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Irene is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Georgene and Wally Seibel of Moffit; her grandsons, Waldon Jr. and Maggie Seibel of Bismarck, Justin and Sheila Seibel, of Moffit, Matt and Samantha Seibel of Moffit; great grandchildren, Rebecca Seibel of Fargo, Wesly and Roman Seibel of Moffit; her sisters and brothers, Carol Jean and Ernest Dykema, Frances Nieuwsma, Eldon and Twylah Hollaar, Jim Hollaar, Harriet Haak, Judy Van Beek, LeRoy and Eileen Hollaar, Betty Ann and Glen Vermeer; and a sister-in-law, Lois Hollaar. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Irene was preceded in death by her husband Percy, her parents, her sister, Evelyn Van Boven, her brothers; William Hollaar, and Gary Hollaar, and several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
