Irene Ohlhauser, 92, of Linton, ND, passed away at Baptist Health Center in Bismarck, ND.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, May 10, 2019 at Peace Lutheran Church, Linton, ND. Burial will be held at the Linton City Cemetery.

Irene was born to August and Pauline Schatz on a farm NE of Linton, ND on August 27, 1926. She attended Marie School District, where following 8th grade, she taught elementary classes. In her young life, she worked for Petrie's Dept. Store in Linton. She married Otto J. Ohlhauser on May 9th, 1948. They lived on the family farm west of Linton; in later years they moved into Linton. Irene was baptized, confirmed and married at Linton Peace Lutheran Church where she was active in all aspects of Christian life by teaching Sunday School, working with Ladies Aid, singing in the German choir, and sewing diapers and layettes for world missions.

Her creative passions gave her great delight in sewing and hand crafts. She enjoyed selling Avon products and needlecrafts for a brief time. For many years, as a gifted writer, she enjoyed writing an Livona Area article in the Emmons County Record. She was a 4-H Leader for many years, and received the "Friend of 4-H" award for the Happy Juniors 4-H Club. She loved her roses and pet birds, and enjoyed visits from grandchildren (even if they weren't actually hers.)

She left this world to join her husband, Otto, her parents and grandparents.

She will remain in the hearts of many: her children Keith (Janice Bichler), Sheila (Dwight Hinkel), Shena (Tim Cunningham), 4 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, a sister, Violet Hochhalter, and Ohlhauser sisters-in-law Velma, Eileen, and Evie.
