Irvin Senger, 82, of Strasburg, ND, passed away November 29, 2023 at Sanford Health, Bismarck. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Strasburg. Visitation will held on Friday, December 1, 2023 from 6:00 – 7:00 pm with a prayer service at 7:00 pm at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Burial will be held at the Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery. A livestream of Irvin's service will be available on the funeral home website.

Irvin Michael Senger was born on April 22, 1941 to Paul and Margaret (Baumgartner) Senger. He was raised on the family farm east of Strasburg. He graduated from Strasburg Public School in 1959. He joined the ND National Guard and later the WI Army Reserves.  After graduation he moved to Milwaukee, WI where he worked for Briggs & Stratton as a Supervisor and General Forman. He also attended Milwaukee Technical College for Metallurgy.

On July 10th, 1971 Irvin married Helen Reis. Together they had 3 daughters, Renee, Sharlene and Sheila. They raised their children in Waukesha, WI until Irvin retired from Briggs & Stratton in 1986 when the family return to Strasburg, ND.

Irvin was involved in many community activities. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. He was involved in bringing EZ Manufacturing INC, with the help of many investors to town in 1992, which employed about 13 people.  He was a member of the Strasburg School Board, Linton Hospital Board and spearheaded The Strasburg Economic Development Corp. He also held the position of Strasburg Mayor and Lions President for 3 years.

Irvin enjoyed spending time on his family farm, watching his grandchildren play school sports and documenting his family genealogy. He took pride in maintaining his yard and enjoyed his time with his coffee buddies.

Grateful to have shared his life are his wife of 52 years, Helen Senger of Strasburg; 3 daughters, Renee (Tony) Ternes of Strasburg, Sharlene (Shane) Gustafson of Plymouth, MN and Sheila (JP) Naughton of West Fargo; 8 grandchildren, Jadyn, Troy & Grant Ternes, Jace & Cade Gustafson, Dylan, Bryce & Blake Naughton; two brothers, Chuck (Elsie) Senger of Mesa, AZ and Paul Senger of Bismarck; two Sisters, Elaine Klein of Fort Worth, TX, and Gladys Senger of Seattle, WA;  sisters-in-law, Bernie and Luvina Reis of Bismarck and Bertha Reis of Rockford,IL, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Irvin was preceded in death by his parents; one nephew; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ken Klein, Tom Massie, Eddie (Theresa) Reis, Herman, John, Ernie, Leo (Johanna) Reis and Gerald (Lillian) Reis.

In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations to the Sts. Peter and Paul Church or Cemetery Fund.
