Ivy E. Erhardt 96, of Strasburg, ND, formerly of Hazelton, ND, died Monday, August 8, 2022 in the Strasburg Care Center.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at the Sannes Feist Family Funeral Home Chapel, Linton, ND with Pastor Floyd Haan officiating.  Burial will be in the St. Paul's Catholic Cemetery.  There will be a visitation for 1 hour before the services at the funeral home.  There will be a livestream of Ivy's funeral service at the bottom of the Sannes Feist Family Funeral Home website, beneath her obituary.

Ivy Eileen Erhardt was born on September 1, 1925 in Collyweston, England to George and Elizabeth Smith.  She grew up in Kingscliffe, England with her older brother Ted and younger siblings Geoff, Rissy, and Audrey.

She attended school in Kingscliffe, England where she graduated high school in two years. She met Gabriel Erhardt in 1943 while he was stationed in England during WWII. They married at St. Felix Cathedral, in North Hampton, England on September 28, 1945.  Once the war ended she came to America on the Queen Mary ocean liner and landed in New York with her first born daughter, Jennifer on June 29, 1946.

They settled in Hazelton, North Dakota to raise their family.  They had nine children in total. They included Jennifer, George, Jeanette, Geoff, Maureen, Kevin, Keith, Doug and Michael. She was an active member of the Hazelton Presbyterian Church where she loved to sing the hymns. She also enjoyed singing with the Hazelton musical group. She was an excellent soprano.

Her hobbies included having a huge flower garden which was her pride and joy. She loved her rose bushes and enjoyed spending hours working in the garden. She also was an incredible baker.  She made all the bread from scratch for the family and was famous for her buns and caramel rolls. She continued her British traditions by always drinking her tea out of china tea cups, and was a valiant member of the North Dakota British Club.

She leaves behind 4 sons Kevin (Mary), Keith, Doug, and Michael (Claire) and three daughters Jennifer (Allen), Jeanette, and Maureen.  She had 12 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by both parents, two brothers, Geoff and Ted, her husband Gabe, and two sons, George and Geoff.
