Jack Volk, 83, Linton, died Monday, November 21, 2011 in the Linton Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 25, 2011 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Linton, ND with Rev. David Richter officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Jack Carroll Volk was born July 9, 1928, in Grand Forks, ND, the son of Anton J. and Barbara (Wolf) Volk. He was raised and educated in a country school and also attended high School in Linton. Jack farmed with his parents 14 miles west of Strasburg. They moved into Linton and rented the farm until selling it in the early 1970's. While living in Linton, Jack worked at the Linton Hospital as a Custodian/Handyman and also worked in the construction business. He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Jack enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards and visiting with family and friends. He was well known in the community and was willing to help anyone in need. Jack is survived by two sisters: Sister Genevieve Volk of Redlands, CA and Sister Benita Volk of Denver, CO, as well as many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.
