James "Jim" David Vander Wal, 65, Mobridge, SD, passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2019, in an accident near Fort Yates, ND.

A funeral service will be held at 1:30 pm on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at Pollock Memorial Presbyterian Church, Pollock, SD. Visitation will be on Friday, July 12, 2019 from 1-7 pm with a prayer service at 7:00 pm at Myers Funeral Home, Linton, ND. Burial will be held at Spring Valley Cemetery, Pollock.

Jim was born on March 10 ^th , 1954 to David and Lorraine (Weber) Vander Wal, at Mobridge, SD. He grew up and attended school at Pollock, SD, graduating in 1972. He went on to farm with his parents and later worked at the cheese plant. Seven years ago, Jim started delivering mail. He began with a mail route for a short time, before changing to his current position with a mail delivery contractor, in North Dakota.

Jim had a passion for anything FORD. He also enjoyed his Harley, was a proud member of the NRA, and a stout republican. He was a biblical scholar and member of Pollock Memorial Presbyterian Church. He loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren, who meant the world to him.

Jim is survived by his 4 children, Ron (Tiffany) Vander Wal, Sioux Falls, SD, Kari Johnson, Minot, ND, Lee (Jessica) Vander Wal, Pueblo, CO, and Marie (Rahman Pie) Vander Wal, Fountain, CO; 9 grandchildren, Caleb, Cameron, Lukas, Kyler, Alexa, David, Dylan, Jenna, and Avery; 1 great-grandchild, Caiden; sister, Cindy (Andrew Jr.) Fjeldheim, Pollock; and niece, Suzie Vander Vorste, Cincinnati, OH.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
