James A Streyle, 66 of Linton ND, died peacefully at home on April 12, 2026. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
He was born on October 5, 1959, in Bismarck ND, to Arnold and Norma Streyle. He attended public school in Linton ND. He graduated from Linton High School. He attended Wahpeton State School of Science where he trained as an auto mechanic. Jim, also known as Joe, started his mechanic career in Linton ND. He then worked in Northfield MN, Dubois WY, and Wishek ND before landing at Pfeifle’s on 83 in Linton, ND. Jim enjoyed hunting and hiking. He was very good at tinkering and could fix anything. He loved reading and was very interested in history. He especially enjoyed learning about WWII. He also read everything by Louis L’Amour. He was also famous for making his mom’s chocolate cake. He never took life too serious and he had a great sense of humor. He will be missed.
He is survived by one brother, Dean Streyle of Bismarck ND, and a sister, Linda Streyle, of Sturgeon Bay WI; three nieces Erin Tosina Streyle of Caceres, Spain, Kaitlin Streyle of Chicago IL, and Alison Zima of Fargo ND.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, David Streyle.
