Janette Weiser, 92, formerly of Hazelton, ND, died on Monday, April 19, 2010, at the Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center in Bismarck, ND. The funeral will be Friday, April 23, at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Hazelton, ND.with Rev. Eugene Roecker officiating. Burial will be at the Hazelton Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before time of service at the church on Friday.Janette was born June 2, 1917, in Rugby, ND and graduated from Rugby High School. She married Philip Weiser on December 5, 1936. They farmed near Hazelton. Janette loved butterflies and was known as the butterfly lady. She made a countless number of them for friends and family, including several hundred used as favors for one of her granddaughters wedding. Janette also loved to sew and do needlepoint. She had a green thumb, both indoors and outdoors. While on the farm her produce went from the garden into innumerable canning jars. She is survived by her children: Myrth Guest, Ithaca, NY; Susan (Arnold) Erickson, Douglas, ND; Charles (Marilyn), Minot, ND; David (Kerry), Vancouver, WS; John (Jeanne), Sparks, NV; Timothy, Bismarck, ND; Russell, West Jorden, UT; 19 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Her husband, Philip, her parents, Robert and Mary Young, five sisters and a son-in-law preceded Janette in death.The family prefers that memorials be given to St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Hazelton.
