Jay Miller, 64, of Strasburg, died in his home, Wednesday, August 1,2018.
A visitation will be held at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Strasburg on Friday from 4:00-7:00 p.m., with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m..
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sts. Peter & Paul at 10:30, Saturday, August 4, 2018 with Fr. Tom Clement officiating.
Jay was born May 9, 1954 to Ozzie and Delores (Wolf) Miller.
He was raised in Strasburg, ND where he was educated and graduated in 1972, from Emmons Central High School. Jay attended UND in Grand Forks, earning a business degree.
Jay married Joni (Ricks) on November 21,1984 and they made their home in Strasburg. After working under his father, in the insurance business, he decided to branch out on his own. He became an agent for American Family Insurance until he retired in 2016. Jay took over the three generation company, South Central Crop and continued with them until his passing. He loved to spend time at the river, fishing, boating, cooking and entertaining his friends. He also enjoyed traveling to Jamaica, Mexico and Green Bay, WI to cheer on his favorite football team, the Green Bay Packers. He was an active member of the Strasburg Lions Club and Wild Life Club.
Jay is survived by his three sons; Matthew Miller of Bismarck, ND, Aaron Miller and Ryan Miller of West Fargo, ND; three sisters; Mary (Pat) Feist of Bismarck, Cheryl (Rob) Kelley of Scottsdale, AZ, Eva Miller of Las Vegas, NV; father-in-law, Lowell (Ginger) Ricks; mother-in-law; Marilyn Ricks, brother-in-law; Michael (Jackie) Ricks, four nieces, four nephews and special friend Cindy Ohlhauser of Strasburg.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Joni, his parents, and nephew, Cody Feist.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations may be made to the Strasburg Lions Club or Wildlife Club.
