Jeanette "Nettie" Van Heukelom, 90, of Herreid, SD, died December 6, 2012 in the Linton Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:30am Monday, December 10, 2012 at Hull Christian Reformed Church, Hull, with Reverend Paul Stout officiating. Burial will be in the Hull Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 9am to 5pm at Myers Funeral Home, Linton and from 6pm to 9pm at the church with a prayer service at 7pm. Jeanette was born in Emmons County, ND on June 14, 1922, the daughter of Frank and Winnie (Groen) Nieuwsma. She was the 6th of 8 children. She was raised with her siblings on the family farm southwest of Hull. She attended the Nieuwsma Rural School. Nettie married Bernice Van Heukelom on December 7, 1953 on the Nieuwsma family farm. To this union 6 children were born. Nettie was a member of the Hull Christian Reformed Church and the Hull Ladies Aid. She enjoyed listening to music and especially her ministries on the radio and tv, she loved her flowers, sitting outside in the swing and she especially loved spending time with her family and she would never celebrate a holiday unless everyone could be there. She is survived by her husband, Bernice, Herreid, SD; her daughters and sons-in-law: Winerva Van Heukelom, Strasburg, ND, Edna and Jeff Leadbetter, Lisbon, ND, Berdene and Gary Dykema, Strasburg, ND and Annette and Brian Rohrich, Strasburg, ND; eight grandchildren: Amy (Jerry) Lauinger, Brad (Kayla) Dykema, Brian (Amanda) Dykema, Mark Dykema, Alyssa Leadbetter, Linsey Leadbetter, Savannah Rohrich, and Jesse Rohrich; seven great grandchildren: Joshua, Katie, Shauna and Rebecca Lauinger, Layton and Garin Dykema and Blake Dykema; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Willis Van Heukelom, Herreid, SD,, Jerome and Beryl Van Heukelom, River Falls, WI, Leroy and Carol Van Heukelom, New Richmond, WI, Roger and Glori Van Heukelom, Bismarck, ND, Kathryn Lovo, Pollock, SD, Loretta and LaVern Compaan, Hague, ND, Elizabeth Dykema, Dickinson, ND, Dennis Miller, Hague, ND, Bertha Van Heukelom, Hudsonville, MI and Ardyth Van Heukelom, Grand Rapids, MI.
