Joe M. Klein, 92, Zeeland, died February 28, 2019, at the Baptist Home, Bismarck, with his family by his side.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 am on Monday, March 4, 2019, at Church of Corpus Christi, Bismarck, with Father Paul Becker celebrating.  Burial will be at St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Zeeland in the spring.

Visitation will be held from 3 to 4 pm on Sunday, March 3, 2019, at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, Mandan, with a Rosary/Prayer Service at 4 pm.  Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.

Joe was born February 22, 1927, on the family farm in Zeeland to Matthias and Magdelena (Wolf) Klein.  He attended rural school.  On June 1, 1964, Joe married Phylis Bosch in Linton and they made their home on his family farm where Joe was blessed to live for 85 years.  Phylis passed away in 1996.  In May 2005 Joe married Ruth Hagen.  Ruth passed away in 2012.  Joe loved attending auction sales and was always bidder #1. He said he wanted one of everything.  His greatest passion was his farm where he could always be found tinkering on something.  Joe cherished his time with his grandchildren and enjoyed early morning walks with his dogs.

Blessed to have shared in his life are his children, Tammy (Randy) Schatz, Fargo, Darin (Lynette) Klein, Wahpeton, and Kelly (Tricia) Klein, Bismarck; five grandchildren, Shane and Erika Schatz, Kailee and Kiah Klein, and Aiden "Little Joseph" Klein; two sisters, Ann Weigel and Betty (Duwane) Berndt; and two brothers, Matthew (Isabell) Klein and Walter "Whitey" Klein.

Joe was preceded in death by his wife Phylis in 1996 and wife Ruth in 2012; three brothers, Tony, John, and Leroy; and three sisters, Julia, Francie, and Lena.
