Joe P. Smith, 90, Hague, ND, passed away on April 30, 2019 at the Linton Hospital, Linton, ND.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, May 13, 2019 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Hague. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Joe was born on April 28, 1929 to G. Howard and Nell (Dick) Smith at Murray, Kentucky. As a young man, he joined the US Army and served during the Korean War. On August 9, 1952 he married Angeline "Angie" Schmaltz at Igloo, SD. They made their home in various cities where Joe was a sheet metal worker. In 1995 they moved to Hague and in June of 2007 they moved into Linton.

Joe is survived by 3 sons, Joseph Smith, David Smith and Michael Smith, all of Hague; 2 daughters, Genevieve (Neil) Bradford, Chadron, NE and Marian Warner, Hague; 7 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Angeline; daughter, Carolyn Anderson; and 2 sisters, Jean Smith and Jackie Carver.
