Obituary

Jonathan James Lawler, 26, of Bismarck, died Wednesday, June 13, 2018. He was born August 19, 1991, in Bismarck, ND, to Jody and Kathleen (Cotter) Lawler.

Visitation will be held at Myers Funeral Home, Monday, June 18, 2018, from 5:00-8:00 pm. The service will be Tuesday, June 19, at 10:30 am at the Peace Lutheran Church of Linton, ND.

He grew up in rural Linton on the family farm and graduated from HMB of Hazelton, ND, in 2009. He attended NDSU and graduated in 2013 with a degree in construction management. Jon joined the Theta Chi, Phi Chapter, fraternity when he was at NDSU.

On August 29, 2015, Jon married McKenzie (Wollmann). They made their home in Bismarck, ND, where he was employed with Bilfinger WestCon, as a Chief Estimator.

Jon had many passions; he had his hands in a little bit of everything. His biggest joy was buying, fixing, and selling cars and motorcycles. He also thrived on finding new adventures and activities – scuba diving, hiking, cliff jumping, mountain climbing, concerts and music festivals, camping, swimming, weight lifting, and skydiving. He loved seeing the world through travel – New Zealand, Italy, Iceland, England, and Ireland. His next big trip was Spain, where he was going to attend a 3-day music festival, skydrive, scuba dive, and run with the bulls. His talent and love for music kept him involved in the NDSU Men's Choir and the Bismarck Civic Chorus. He recently performed at Carnegie Hall in New York City. Jon was also an avid reader. There wasn't a book he didn't want to devour. He will be missed dearly by so many.

Jonathan will be forever remembered by his wife McKenzie; parents Jody and Kathleen; sister AnnaRene Lawler and her fiancé Chris St. Amant of Fargo, ND; sister Megan Lawler and nephew Carson Lawler of Harwood, ND; brother Matthew Lawler of Fargo, ND; grandparents, Al and Joan Cotter of Hutchinson, MN.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Teddie and Nina Lawler.
