Joseph was born August 10, 1927 on the family farm 15 miles east of Linton, ND, the son of August and Catherine (Wetzel) Aberle. Joseph grew up on the family farm and attended school in a rural one-room schoolhouse in Dakem District.
Joseph married his beloved wife, Rose (Mathern) Aberle, June 15, 1949 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in rural Napoleon. Joseph was very active in his community. He was a licensed auctioneer, served as a trustee for the St. Michael's Catholic church and was a member of the Linton Knights of Columbus, Council 5955 since it was chartered in April 1967, where he was recognized several times for his participation in the council.
Joseph is survived by seven sons, Dennis Aberle, Beulah, ND, Marvin (Debbie) Aberle, Beulah, Robert (Carol) Aberle, Bismarck, ND, Duane (friend Geriann) Aberle, Bismarck, Florian Aberle, Bismarck, Darius (Sherry) Aberle, Linton, and Calvin (Connie) Aberle, Bismarck; three daughters, Arlene (Chuck) Welk, Wishek, ND, Rosie (Marvin) Werlinger, Circle Pines, MN, and Charlene (Francis) Wald, Linton; 25 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.
