Kathleen "Kathy" Ramey, 62, formerly of Linton, ND, died July 1, 2010, under the care of Hospice at the Lodge on Natchez in Elko, MN. Funeral services will be held at 10:30am Wednesday, July 7, 2010, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Linton, with the Reverend Gary Benz officiating. Burial will be in the Linton Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 9:00am to 9:00pm at the Myers Funeral Home, Linton, with a prayer service at 7:00pm. Kathy was born March 16, 1948, in Mt. Vernon, NY, the daughter of Stephen and Viola (Cronin) Leonard. She attended grade school and graduated from Our Lady of Good Council Academy in 1966. Kathy married Jerald Lee Ramey on April 24, 1971, in Hawthorne, NY. Following their marriage, they moved to Mandan, ND, where she worked at the Gourmet House. Jerry and Kathy also farmed and sold farm machinery. They moved to Linton in 1985 and continued to farm west of Linton. Jerry died September 19, 1986. Kathy continued to live in Linton where she raised her family and continued to manage the farmland. She was very active in the community. She taught Sunday school at St. Anthony's Catholic Church and served on the City Council, serving the remainder of Jerry's term. Kathy enjoyed sewing, working on crafts, watching her children's sporting events and spending time on the water. After her children finished high school, Kathy moved to Bismarck and then Fargo working in sales. She worked for Olan Mills photography for seven years prior to retirement. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law: James and Angela Ramey of Savage, MN, and Brian and Beckie Ramey of Bismarck, ND; one daughter, Kelly Ann Ramey of Wichita, KS; two grandchildren: Grace Kelly and Ashlyn Mae; her mother, Viola Leonard of Merced, CA, and one brother, Stephen Leonard of Merced, CA, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1986 and her father in 1977.
