Ken Schatz, 85, of Linton, ND, passed away August 4, 2022 at Missouri Slope Care Center, Bismarck. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2022 at 10:30 AM at Peace Lutheran Church, Linton. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 from 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at Sannes Feist Family Funeral Home, Linton. Burial will be held at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery following the funeral service at 3:00 PM. Ken was born on July 18, 1937 in Linton to Reinhold and Hilda (Bollinger) Schatz. Growing up in Linton, Ken played Football, Basketball, Track and Baseball at Linton high school and graduated in 1955. He played Football, Track and Baseball at Valley City State College. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame at Valley City State College in both Football and Track. He was very blessed to have a lot of great friendships that he valued dearly along the way. During his life he was involved in the John Deere dealership in Linton while farming, teaching and coaching. He married Lorraine Buck on May 6, 1967 in Linton. They were blessed with 55 years of marriage. Lorraine says it was a blessing being married for 55 years and loved his sense of humor.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Lorraine Schatz; five children, Randy (Georgene) Heitz, Rod (Kimberly) Heitz, Ronda Monroe, Janelle Schatz and Warren (Amanda) Schatz; grandchildren, Joshua, Sarah, Rachael, Jason, Lisa, Chasity, Austyn, Madeline, Weston and Mariah; and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Reinhold and Hilda Schatz, his sister Shirley Schatz and his granddaughter Amanda Monroe.
