Kenneth Jakobsen, 70, Pollock, SD, died Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Sanford Health, Bismarck, ND. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at Pollock Lutheran Church, Pollock, SD. Burial will be in Dale Cemetery, Rural Pollock, SD. Visitation will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday, November 14, 2012 at Myers Funeral Home, Linton, and continue from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the church in Pollock where there will be a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour before services Wednesday at the church. Kenneth "Kenny" Jakobsen was born January 17, 1942 on a farm in Emmons County, the son of Francis and Ann (Weber) Jakobsen. He attended country school and graduated from Pollock High School in 1960. Kenny married Vicki Wittmeier on February 15, 1963 at Pollock Lutheran Church. Following their marriage, they lived on the family farm and Kenny worked construction. He farmed with his dad until purchasing the farm. He farmed until retiring in 1995. Following his retirement, Kenny did various odd jobs and helped out area farmers. He served on State Line Fire District , Dale Cemetery Board, and Strasburg Rodeo Club Board. He enjoyed watching sports, attending his granddaughters school events, throwing darts, hunting, playing cards and visiting with family and friends. Kenny is survived by his wife, Vicki of Pollock, one son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Leanne Jakobsen of Pollock, two granddaughters, Kiley and Lindsey Jakobsen, and one brother and two sisters-in-law, Duwaine and Arlie Jakobsen of Pollock, SD and Gladys Jakobsen of Bismarck, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, O'Neil and a nephew, Michael.
