LaVerne Glas, 68, Linton, ND died Saturday, February 16, 2013 in the Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center, Bismarck, ND. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 22, 2013 at Linton United Methodist Church, Linton, ND with Rev. Cori Waisanen officiating. Burial will be in St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery, Linton, ND. Visitation will be Thursday, February 21, 2013 from noon until 9 p.m. at the funeral home. LaVerne was born in Linton, ND, December 15, 1944, the daughter of Alvin and Adeline (Ehrmann) Fischer. She was raised and educated in Temvik, ND. After school, she worked various places in town and playing in a band that included her husband and two siblings. She married Steve Glas in April, 1972 at the United Methodist Church Parsonage and they lived in Linton. Steve died in 1986 and LaVerne continued to live in Linton. She enjoyed crocheting, baking, gardening, watching western shows, playing cards, playing keyboar, pets and camping. LaVerne is survived by three sons and one daughter-in-law, Joseph L. Glas and special friend, Kasey Ketterling, Mandan, ND, Harold S. and Jenny Glas, Bismarck, ND, Robert H. Glas, Linton, ND one step daughter and step son-in-law, Yvonne and Michael Spaeth of Poway, CA, and one sister, Florence M. Fischer of Linton, ND. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Steve in 1986, one son, Roger in 2003 and a brother, Harry Fischer.
