Larence "Larry" Lammert, 82, of Hazelton, ND, died July 1, 2013 in the Linton Hospital. Memorial services will be held at 10:00am Monday, July 8, 2013 at Myers Funeral Home Chapel, Linton, ND with Reverend Gear Dodd officiating. Burial will at 2:00pm Monday at the ND Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND. Lawrence was born in Mound City, SD, on May 13, 1931, the son of William and Alma (Schaffer) Lammert. He attended school in Emmons County. He served in the US Marine Corps from 1951 until 1952. Larry worked for Engleman's Farm and also for the Farmer's Union Elevator in Flasher and Hazelton. He married Catherine Baker on March 2, 1957 at St. Paul's Catholic Church Rectory. Larry also worked for the Homestake Gold Mine in Lead, SD. He retired in 1994 and returned to Hazelton, where he has lived until his death. He enjoyed Sunday drives, gardening, fishing, photography, and spending time with his family and friends. Larry was a member of the Hazelton American Legion. He is survived by his wife, Catherine, Hazelton, ND; a son, Lowell Lee Lammert, Lead, SD; daughters and son-in-law: Dawn Marie Lammert and finace' Mike Gausman, Rapid City, SD and Claudette and Mark Funk, Vancouver, WA; a grandson, Reed Funk, Vancouver, WA; a brother, and sister-in-law: Donald and Marcie Lammert, Moffit, ND; sisters and brothers-in-law: Aluice Nord, Hot Springs, SD, Nancy and Charles Schnabel, Ashley, ND, Inez and Al Falk, Fargo, ND, Jean Ohlhauser, Linton, ND, Susie and Neal Weber, Linton, ND, Sharon Caruso, Linton, ND and Lila and Ted Humann, Bismarck, ND and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers-in-law: Alex Ohlhauser and John Caruso.
