Lee Ann Fischer came into this world on August 27, 1955, and passed to the next on December 2, 2021, after a valiant fight with cancer.

She was the daughter of Eugene and Teresia (Mueller) Fischer. Lee Ann was raised on her parents' farm east of Linton. She loved helping her dad with fieldwork and chores. Lee Ann often talked about walking in the pastures with her dog at her side and about her love for all of the farm animals. Her love of animals led her to care for several homeless kittens over the years.

Lee Ann graduated from Linton High School in 1973 and attended college in Fargo. She spent several years in the Midwest, working various retail jobs, including being an Avon representative, and she met many people along the way.

Lee Ann relocated to Linton where she cared for her dad for many years. Through the years, Lee Ann was employed at several Linton businesses, most recently at Linton Food Center, working in the store's greenhouse, and at The Family Dollar. She was a dedicated worker. She enjoyed visiting with customers, and she loved seeing the little children that came through the doors.

Because she loved the outdoors, Lee Ann was the first in the neighborhood to get outside to shovel the snow off of her driveway and sidewalks, and she fired up her lawn mower at the first sign of spring. Lee Ann took great pride in her yard, her pots of flowers, and her shrubs that she meticulously nurtured many hours a week. She loved visiting with her neighbors, and she had a great big smile and wave for all who passed by.

She was very independent, but also recognized and was grateful for, as the song goes, "a little help from her friends," including her good friend Bob and several of her neighbors. Lee Ann's friends/neighbors are grateful– and know that Lee was also grateful- for the compassionate care she received from the staff at Sanford Hospital in Bismarck during her recent stays.

Lee Ann was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by the people she touched through her assistance and by friends and neighbors that she loved and loved her in return. They will miss her dearly.

A celebration of Life for Lee Ann will be on Thursday, December 16, at 7:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Linton, ND, with visitation beginning an hour before the service. Fellowship will follow in the dining hall.
