It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Leo Hulm, who departed his life on March 6th at 12:05 AM. Leo died peacefully leaving behind a legacy defined by his love for his family and faith. A man of unwavering kindness, humility, and faith, he touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am, Monday, March 10, 2025 at St. Anthony Catholic Church with Fr. Mark Aune officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  A Rosary/Vigil Service will be held at 5:00 pm, Sunday, March 9, 2025 at the church.

Leo was a devoted family man whose love and dedication to his loved ones knew no bounds. His soft heart and friendly nature made him a source of comfort and wisdom to many. Whether through his tireless work, his steadfast faith, or gentle encouragement, he always led by example, teaching us the true meaning of humility and perseverance.

A hardworking soul, he dedicated his life to those providing for his family and ensuring that those around him felt loved and valued. His warmth and generosity will be deeply missed but never forgotten. He made sure to greet people with a smile and his famous "Red Eye" to make sure you would come again.

Though our hearts ache with his passing, we find peace in knowing that he now rests in eternal grace in God's kingdom. He leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and kindness that will live in the hearts of his family and friends.

Leo Hulm was born on September 15, 1935 to Frank and Christine (Imberi) Hulm. He is the oldest of ten children in the Hulm family. Leo grew up on his parents' farm located 10 miles northeast of Hague.

He was married to Mary Vetter on September 17, 1956 at St Anthony Catholic Church in Linton. He worked at the Linton Drug Store for 18 years after that he and Ray Bosch purchased the L&R Western store for 8 years until it was destroyed by fire on Christmas Eve. Then he and his son Virgil opened Hulm's Food Center on Main Street. Leo's other son Al eventually went into the grocery store business with them as well. Leo will be remembered for his famous homemade sausage. They owned and successfully ran it for 20 years before they sold it. Leo was an active member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.

Leo is survived by his love, his wife of 68 years, Mary and children: son Gary (Delrae) Hulm and their children AnnaLee Hulm and Colin Hulm, son Virgil (Laura) Hulm and their children Nicole (Brandon) and Chance and Madelyn  Sehn, and Jordan (Katey) Hulm,  son Al (Pam) Hulm and their children Whitney (Damon) and Letty, Rhen, and Navy Weigel, and Lindsey (Wade) and Thea, Dax, and Kohley Rath-Wald, daughter Marlene (Kent) VanderVorste and their children Kendra (Wade) and Kase Trotter, Connor (Kylee) and Kysen Hellebust, Kylie (Tyler) Haugom, Tyler (Daysia) VanderVorste. He is also survived by siblings Eleanora Heilman, Ray (Rose) Hulm, Rose (Ray) Bosch, John (Rose) Hulm, and Frank Hulm.

Leo was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Christine Hulm, sister MaryAnn and brother Alfred Hulm who both died at birth, sister Bernadine Bosch, sister Magdaline Schmit. He also was preceded in death by brothers-in-law Ray Heilman and Tony Bosch and his great grandchild JoJo Weigel.
