Lila Werner, 87, Hazelton, ND passed away December 3, 2019, at Sanford Hospital, Bismarck, ND.

Funeral services for Lila will be held Monday, December 9, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Hazelton, ND.  Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck ND.

Lila Jane Werner was on born October 24, 1932, on the McDonald farm, north of Hazelton.  She is the daughter of Reinhold and Rosina (Schmidt) Werner.  She graduated from Hazelton High School in 1950.  She attended Valley City State Teachers College and graduated in 1962 with a Bachelor of Science in Education.  Lila obtained her masters degree in Elementary Education in Duluth, MN.  She taught school is several places in North Dakota, Iowa, Minnesota, Libya, Germany, and New Mexico.  Lila retired from education in New Mexico in 1995 and returned to Hazelton.  She enjoyed visiting with family and friends.

Lila is survived by her sister, Beatrice Heer, Hazelton, ND; nieces and nephews, Denise (Donald) Orthmeyer, Hazelton, ND, Dione Heer, Green Valley, AZ, David (Char) Heer, Hazelton, ND; her great nieces and nephews, Kristin (Chris) Meyer, Joel (Whitney) Heer, Jesse Heer, and Benajah Orthmeyer.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her great niece Kari Lynn Orthmeyer; her brother Herbert Werner.
