Lillian Viola Miller, 83, passed away, Friday, July 17, 2020 at the Sanford Medical Center, Bismarck.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday July 29, 2020 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 210 4th St S, Hague, ND. Lillian's Nephew Father Paul Eberle will be officiating the service with Father Tom Clement. Myers Funeral Home of Linton will be streaming Lillian's service for any family and friends that can't attend at www.Myersfh.com under Lillian's obituary.
Burial will take place at the Hague Cemetery following.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Tuesday, July 28, with the Rosery beginning 7:00 p.m. at Myers Funeral Home, 203 Southeast 2nd Street, Linton, ND.
Lillian was born March 30, 1937 to Christ and Ethel (Gayhart) Martinson. Lillian attended a rural school in Grano North Dakota. After graduating from high school, she worked as a nursing assistant at St. Alexius Hospital in Bismarck North Dakota.
Lillian married the love of her life Julius Miller on November 7, 1959 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bismarck North Dakota. Lillian and Julius made their home on a farm 4 miles northwest of Hague North Dakota. Lillian was a devoted housewife and mother. In 1976 they moved from the farm into the town of Hague. After the move into town Lillian worked at the Strasburg Nursing Home, Daybreak in Eureka South Dakota and the Frame Factory in Strasburg before retiring. In 2012 Lillian lost the love of her life and in April of 2013 she moved to Eureka South Dakota to be closer to her oldest daughter. In January 2020 Lillian became a resident of the Avera Eureka Healthcare Center.
Lillian enjoyed watching her grandchildren grow up and family was very important to her. Her hobbies were sewing, cooking and baking.
Lillian is survived by her daughters, Joyce (Dennis) Schwingler, Eureka, SD; Claudia (Richard) Schwingler, Bismarck, ND and Laura Miller, Bismarck, ND and one son David (Cindy) Miller, Bismarck, ND; six grandchildren Justin Miller and his fiancé Kate Sanow; Heather (Tylor) Halstengard, Chad Schwingler, Kayla Schwingler, Amanda Schwingler and Brittany Schwingler; one great-grandchild Freyja Halstengard and her sister-in-law Faith Martinson.
Lillian is preceded in death by her parents, Christ and Ethel (Gayhart) Martinson; husband Julius Miller; two sisters Marie and Myrtle, four brothers Allen, Melvin, Marvin and James.
