Lillian Sandwick, 82, Strasburg, ND, formerly of Linton, ND, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, Tuesday October 4, 2016 at Sanford Hospital, Bismarck, after a long courageous battle with cancer. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, October 8, 2016 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Linton. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Friday at the church where there will be a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Inurnment will follow the service at the Linton City Cemetery. Lillian was born February 13, 1934 to Matt and Monica (Yantzer) Barth. She grew up south of Mandan, ND. Lillian worked at the Mandan Hospital for seven years before moving to Linton, to work at the Linton Hospital for several years. While in Linton, she met and married Harry Sandwick and to this union three daughters were born. They farmed northeast of Linton until 1996. During their farming years, she was a cook in Linton at several restaurants. Everyone loved her pies, soups and chicken and dumplings. She was very involved in her children and grandchildren's lives. They were the light of her life. She loved to attend many of their events and sporting events and was so proud of all of them.Lillian was a very active member in the Catholic Order of Foresters, American Legion Auxiliary, Christian Mothers, Red Hat Society and the Senior Citizens Center. Lillian is survived by her children; Laurette (Richard) Nagel, Bismarck, Tracy (Tony) Vetsch, Strasburg, Crissy (KJ) Moser, Pollock, SD; her grandchildren, Tyler Scherr, Brianna Scherr, Rebecca Nagel, Alexis Sandwick, MyKira Vetsch, Kasey Vetsch, Treyten Vetsch, Brittany Moser, Ty Moser and Kashton Moser; her siblings, Agnes Wagner, Billings, MT, Robert (Gail) Barth, Bismarck, Betty (Wayne) Ferderer, Bismarck, Darlene (Robert) Brandner, Linton, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry; son-in-law, Randy Scherr; brothers, Richard Barth and Harold Barth; a niece, Linda Barth; brothers-in-law, Richard Sandwick, Louis Sandwick, Eugene Sandwick, Chester Sandwick, Herb Scheirmeister, Chuck Woods; sisters-in-law, Joann Sandwick, Macy Scheirmeister, Maryl Traver, Alicia Woods, Alma Barth; and three brothers in childhood.Memorials can be made to the Bismarck Cancer Center in memory of Lillian.
