Lillian Kost Volk, 87, of Herreid, SD, died July 15, 2011 at the Linton Hospital. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30am Monday, July 18, 2011 at First Reformed Church, Herreid with the Reverend Jimmy Hall officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Herreid. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 17, 2011 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at the church in Herreid. Lillian was born on March 13, 1924 in Java, SD, the daughter of Fred C. and Magdalena (Goehring) Wolff. Lillian married Ernest Kost on November 4, 1951 in Eureka, SD. They made their home in Herreid, SD where they raised five amazing children. Ernest died in 1975. Lillian worked at the Wheeler/Wrangler motel and was a certified daycare provider. In 1990, she married Conrad Volk in Eureka, SD. They continued to live in Eureka until Conrad's death in 1994. In 2002 Lillian moved to the apartments in Herreid. In 2006 she moved into the Good Samaritan Center where she made her home until the Lord took her on July 15, 2011. Lillian enjoyed gardening and loved her flowers. She also loved listening and dancing to Polka music and having coffee with her friends. She enjoyed getting rides in her mom's car with Clinton. She especially loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lillian is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Clinton and Darlene Kost of Herreid, SD; four daughters and sons-in-law: Carol Ann and Ray Ottenbacher of Herreid, SD, Cora and Ray Sieler of Newton, IA, Charlene and Keith Fischer of Madison, SD and Carla Fischer and friend Scott DeVaney of Madison, SD; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother and sisters-in-law: Alvin Wolff of Arizona, Irene Korneychuck of Wyoming, Marlene Wolff of Arizona and a very special Aunt and sister-in-law: Irene Kost of Herreid, SD; one sister, Lorraine Amerine of California. She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands two brothers and a sister.
