Linda Meier, 82, of Strasburg, ND, died Saturday, August 22, 2026 after suffering a stroke. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Strasburg, ND. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6pm to 7pm on Friday, August 28, 2026 at the church. There will be a vigil at 7pm.

Linda was born on May 17, 1944, the youngest daughter out of 3, to Adolph and Martha (Thurn) Forderer. She was raised and educated in Emmons County, graduating from The Linton High School in 1962.

Linda met Al Meier on New Year’s Eve of 1963 and they were married on October 16, 1965. They moved onto the Meier family farm near Strasburg in 1968. Linda graduated from St. Joseph’s Hair Academy in 1963 and went to work for EBS Hair Salon in Linton. Once her children were older, Linda worked at the Strasburg Care Center as an aide and then later as a hairdresser. She retired in 2019.

Linda was an avid reader. She passed the winters away doing puzzles and walked everyday. She got her last walk in on Tuesday before suffering a stroke. She will be forever remembered by her kids and grandkids for her famous chocolate chip cookies. She said the secret ingredient was love!

Linda is survived by her husband, Aloys “Al”, Strasburg, ND; sons: Richard (Kim Johnson), Fargo, ND, Michael (Carol), Bismarck, ND, Brian (Linda), Fargo, ND; daughters: Sheila (Daren) Eliason, Beulah, ND, Patricia (Toby) Olson, Bismarck, ND; 13 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren and another due Feb 2027; brother, Stanley Forderer, Coos Bay, OR.

Preceded in death by her parents; sister, Verna (Francis) Schreiner and sister-in-law, Rosanne Forderer.

Memorials preferred to the Strasburg Care Center.
