LOUIS O. PAYNE

September 24, 1958 ~ November 20, 2009

Louis O. Payne, 51, of Pollock, SD, died November 20, 2009 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 10:30am Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at Pollock Memorial Presbyterian Church, Pollock with the Reverend Floyd Haan officiating. Burial will be in the Dale Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 12:00pm to 9:00pm at the Myers Fuenral Home, Linton with a prayer service at 7:00pm. Visitation will continue for one hour before the services at the church. Louis Ole Payne was born September 24, 1958 in Linton, ND, the son of Ivon and Betty (Millenaar) Payne. He was raised and lived his entire life northwest of Pollock. He attended school in Pollock, SD and Graduated in 1976 from the Pollock High School. Louis worked for various area farmers and also did custom combining. Louis took over the family farm after his fathers death in 1986. He also drove truck for Pollock Transport for many years. Louis was a member of Pollock Mens Club and the South Forty Horse Club. He enjoyed his John Deere Tractors, horses, dogs and playing cards and darts with his friends. Louis is survived by his mother, Betty Payne of Strasburg, ND; three brothers and sisters-in-law: Kevin and fianc Sheryl Nieber of Aberdeen, SD, James Payne of Rapid City, SD and Allan and Rae Payne of Watertown, SD; one sister and brother-in-law: Cheryl and Elmer Brandner of Linton, ND; eleven nieces and nephews: Michael, Lacy, Christopher, Kelli, Kaitlynn, Keisha, Brittni, Amanda, Lacy, Brittni and Logan. He was preceded in death by his father in 1986 and his grandparents.
