Obituary

Lydia "Lilly" Gimbel, 81, Strasburg, formerly of Hazelton, died June 24, 2011 at the Strasburg Care Center. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00pm Thursday, June 30, 2011 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hazelton with the Reverend Eugene Roecker officiating. Burial will be in the Hazelton Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wed from 12:00pm to 9:00pm at the Myers Funeral Home, Linton. There will be a prayer service at 7:00pm at the funeral home. Lilly was born on a farm west of Hazelton, ND, on August 20, 1929, the daughter of Hugo and Rose (Opp) Mulske. She attended country school and high school in Hazelton. Lydia married Andrew "Andy" Gimbel on December 5, 1952 in Hazelton. Following their marriage, they lived in Hazelton. They enjoyed traveling and spending the winters in Appache Junction, AZ. Andy died March 2, 1994. Lydia enjoyed sewing, gardening, reading, crossword puzzles and spending time with family and friends. She is survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law: William "Bill" and Frances Mulske of Hindsdale, IL, and Thomas and Jackie Mulske of West Fargo, ND and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1994; three sisters: Lorraine Stoller, Irene Zoller and Cecelia Mulske and one brother, Eckhardt Mulske.
