Lynn Denise Christ was born July 10, 1957 in Leavenworth, KS, the daughter of Daniel A. and Lucy (Smith) Christ. The Christ family moved to Lompoc, CA when Lynn was two years old and she grew up and attended school there, graduating from Cabrillo High School. Lynn then attended the North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton, ND for one year. She later attended Dental Hygienist school in Rangely, CO. Lynn married James A. Vikse on August 15, 1981, in Mandan, ND. They made their home in Craig, CO and became the parents of four children. Lynn was a homemaker and also worked as a dental hygienist for various dentists in Craig. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and enjoyed latch hooking, camping, visiting with family and was an avid Colorado Rockies fan. Lynn died on Monday, May 2, 2012 at the Sandrock Ridge Care and Rehabilitation Center following a lengthy illness. She was 54. Lynn is survived by her husband, James Vikse of Craig, CO; her sons Loren Vikse of Craig, CO and Ben, his wife APril Vikse, and daughter Nevaeh of Alamosoa< CO,; her father Daniel Christ of Bismarck, ND and her sisters Jean King of Bismarck, ND and Rae Christ of Omaha, NE. Lynn was preceded in death by her mother Lucy, a daughter Amy Michelle and a son Clark. Funeral services were held on Friday, May 25, 2012 at Faith Lutheran Church with Pastor John Turner officiating. Concluding services and interment will be in Pollock, SD at 3:00 p.m. at Pollock Lutheran Church and interment at 4:00 p.m. in Spring Creek Cemetery, Pollock, SD. Memorial donations may be made to Faith Lutheran Church, Pollock Lutheran Church or United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation in care of Grant Mortuary.
