Obituary

Our family is heartbroken to announce that our beloved mother, Magdalena (Silbernagel) Krumm, entered her eternal home on November 1, 2025, at the age of 97.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Strasburg, ND with Fr. Shannon Lucht officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025 from 5pm to 7pm at the church in Strasburg.  There will be a rosary/vigil at 7pm.

Maggie's long and beautiful life was a testament to her faith, kindness, hard work, and devotion to her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her, and her legacy of love and care will continue to live on through her children, grandchildren, and generations beyond. Her faith and love of family were the cornerstones of her life, and her memory will continue to be a blessing to all who were fortunate enough to know her.

She was born to Felix and Katie (Gross) Silbernagel in Walker, SD. After her family moved to Strasburg, she later married Anton Krumm on February 4, 1947. Along with farming, Maggie worked as a CNA at the Strasburg Nursing Home for 50 years, until the young age of 80.

A woman of many talents, her hands were never still. Maggie loved crocheting, embroidering, cross-stitching, and tending to her flowers and plants. She also enjoyed many happy hours playing pinochle with family and friends.

Maggie was blessed with 30 grandchildren, 83 great-grandchildren, and 24 great-great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense joy and pride. She lovingly crocheted blankets and bears for all of them — and for many friends — with love and care in every stitch.

She is survived by nine of her ten children: Virginia (Terrance) Emineth, Kathleen Sommer, Sophia (Patty) Emineth, John (Diane) Krumm, Zita (Ronald) Quaschnick, Tim (Lydia) Krumm, Lila (Larry) Brendel, Felix (Arvetta) Krumm, and Stan (Jodi) Krumm; sisters, Eugenia Roehrich, Joey (Mark) Erhardt, and Valarie Saffel; sisters-in-law, Mary Krumm, Darlene Silbernagel and brother-in-law, Don Haag. Her many loved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren along with too many friends and relatives to mention.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Felix and Katie Silbernagel; her husband of 54 years, Anton Krumm; beloved daughter Lucinda Possail; great-grandson Archie Emineth; sisters Mary, Ann, Lena, Lillian, and Arly; and brothers Eddie, Leo, and Robert.
