Obituary

Magdalena "Maggie" Wickenheiser, 78, Linton, passed away January 28, 2020 at her home, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 1, at St Anthony Catholic Church in Linton.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 on Friday, January 31, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Linton.

Burial will be at St. Anthony's Cemetery, in the spring.

Maggie was born on November 26, 1941, the second of six children to Frank and Regarda Fettig rural Burnstad, ND.  She attended country school in Burnstad through the 8 th grade. In her early 20's she moved to Linton and worked for Renschler Café and Steak House.  It is there where she met her future husband, Mike Wickenheiser.  On August 31 st , 1964 the couple was united in marriage at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Linton.  Together they raised two sons, Michael and Myron.

Maggie was a part of the Christian Mothers since December 1974, and Catholic order of Foresters since June 2013.  She worked at the Linton Super Value for 20 years, and later Dockter's Jack and Jill.  Maggie was a very organized person, always knowing where to find things. She enjoyed painting and doing finishing work for her husband who is a carpenter. She stained and varnished many cabinets and other woodworking projects over the years. Maggie especially loved gardening, both her flower and vegetable gardens.

Maggie is survived by her husband, Mike, Linton; her sons, Michael, Linton, and Myron (Jessica), Bismarck; granddaughters, Kia and London Wickenheiser; and sister, Ann (Carl) Berger, Twin Falls, Idaho.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Regarda; sisters Theresa and Mary; brothers Valentine and Sebastian.

A special thank-you to Maggie's sister Ann, for taking such loving care of Maggie and for the wonderful kindness shown to both Maggie and Mike during this time.
