Marjorie A. Ryckman, 83, formerly of Pollock, SD, died April 26, 2012 in the Strasburg Care Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:00am Monday, April 30, 2012 at Pollock Memorial Presbyterian Church, Pollock with the Reverend Floyd Haan officiating. Burial will be in the Dale Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 12:00pm to 3:00pm at the Myers Funeral Home, Linton and from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at the church with a prayer service at 6:00pm. Marjorie was born October 22, 1928 in Linton, ND, the daughter of Alfred and Rose (Clark) Becker. She attended country school and graduated from the Pollock High School in 1946. She taught country school for a year. Marjorie married Elmer C. Ryckman on November 22, 1947 at Hope Reformed Church in Westfield. Following their marriage, they moved to a farm south of Westfield. They farmed until retiring in 1979, when they moved into Pollock. Marjorie worked at the Pollock Caf for many years, which she truly enjoyed. She was a member of Pollock Memorial Presbyterian Church, Pollock American Legion Auxiliary, where she held various offices, and WIC. Marjorie enjoyed playing cards, crocheting, puzzles, crossword puzzles, solitaire and visiting with family and friends. She is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law: LeRoy and Marcella Ryckman, Fargo, ND, Jim and Violet Ryckman, Bismarck, ND, Merlin and Cindy Ryckman, Pollock, SD, and Mark and Bert Ryckman, Bismarck, ND; one daughter and son-in-law: Judy and Monte Vander Vorst, Pollock, SD; twelve grandchildren; twenty one great-grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Ryckman, Strasburg, ND and one sister-in-law, Katherine Becker, Pollock, SD. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1980, one son, Paul Anthony in 1963, two brothers and one sister-in-law: Albert Becker and Alfred and Charlotte Becker and a brother-in-law: Elmer W. Ryckman.
