Marlene F. Dykema, 90, formerly of Pollock, SD died September 19, 2026 in the Strasburg Care Center. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, September 26, 2026 at the Hope Reformed Church, Westfield. Interment will be held in the Westfield Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service all at the Sannes Feist Family Funeral Home.

Marlene Fay Dykema (Dornbush) passed away, at the age of 90, on September 19, 2026 at the Strasburg Care Center. Marlene was born in Westfield, ND to Ike and Ann (VanVugt) Dornbush on April 13. 1936. She attended country school and eventually attended Strasburg Public School.She graduated High School in 1954 and went on to Ellendale College. After college she returned to teach in a country school for three years.

She married Orville Dykema on June 26, 1957. Their first home was on a farm north of Westfield where their children Cindy and Donny were born. Eventually they moved to Westfield where they ran the Westfield Store for three years. Their daughter Rhonda was born while they lived in Westfield. Soon after they moved to a farm northeast of Westfield, and Ort was born. Orville and Marlene’s last move together was to a farm north of Pollock. Orville passed away on July 10, 2005, and Marlene moved into Pollock. She resided in Pollock until March of 2026 when she moved to the care center in Strasburg.

She was a member of Westfield Hope Reformed Church where she went to RCWM and taught Sunday school. She loved animals and was always busy with the cattle on the farm. She was a big help milking cows and during calving season. She enjoyed playing cards, embroidering, and quilting. She was a big fan of the grandchildren’s sports games and attended as many as she could.

Marlene is survived by her children, Cindy (Merlin) Ryckman – Pollock, SD, Rhonda (Troy) Holzer – Trail City, SD and Ort (Joy) Dykema – Westfield, ND; 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Orville; sister, Marlene; brother, Eugene; her son, Donny; six brothers-in-law; and one sister-in-law.
