Martha Jahner, 93, Linton, ND, passed away on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at St. Vincent's Care Center in Bismarck, ND.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Linton.
Visitation will be from 5-7 pm with a prayer service at 7:00 pm on Monday at Myers Funeral Home, Linton.
Burial will be at St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery, in the spring.
Martha was born on November 17, 1926 in Strasburg, ND to John and Mary (Ibach) Bosch. She grew up near Strasburg and attended country school. Martha worked for various families in town, helping with housework and other things the families would need.
While at a dance in Strasburg, Martha met Leo Jahner. They were united in marriage on October 13, 1947 at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, rural Strasburg. Martha and Leo made their home on a farm west of Linton where they farmed and were blessed with 6 children. In 1989 they retired and moved into Linton. Martha was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, where she was active with the Catholic Daughters.
In 2011 they moved to Bismarck and later moved back to Linton in 2019.
Martha was a hard worker, always keeping her hands busy. She enjoyed crocheting and quilting, making sure each child and grandchild received a blanket. She was an excellent German cook and prepared many wonderful meals over the years, even when last minute company would stop by. At Christmastime she was especially known for her candy.
Martha is survived by her husband of 72 years, Leo, Linton; 5 children, Dorothy Hoffman, Bismarck, Leo (Pam) Jahner, Bismarck, Mary (Richard) Heidrich, Mandan, ND, Cindy (Tom) Nolz, West Fargo, ND and Tim Jahner, Sebastian, FL; 10 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 4 siblings, Frank (Madonna) Bosch, Strasburg, Bill (Mae) Bosch, Strasburg, Ann Bosch, Strasburg and Bernice (Manny) Fettig, Fargo, ND; and sister-in-law, Jane Bosch, Bismarck. She is also survived by brothers and sisters in law, Eddy (Bernice) Jahner, Rose Roth, and Ben Johs.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son Tom, in 2016; son-in-law, Tim Hoffman; siblings, Jack Bosch, Florence Merkt, Tony (Molly) Bosch and George (Edna) Bosch; and brother-in-law, Alex Bosch.
