Mary Grinsteiner, 99, of Linton, ND, died July 22,2026 in the Linton Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am on Monday, July 27,2026 at St. Anthony Catholic Church with Fr. Mark Aune officiating. Burial will be in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery. There will be a visitation held from 3:00pm to 5:00pm at Sannes Feist Family Funeral Home, Linton with a rosary/vigil at 5:00pm.

Mary was born September 21,1926 on a farm near Strasburg, ND the daughter of Wendelin and Ottilia (Haag). She attended country school. Mary married Mark Grinsteiner on October 3,1946 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church. They farmed with Marks parents until 1948 and then moved to a farm in the St. Aloysious area. They moved to Linton in 1979 where Mary did house cleaning for Bill Fischer, Nina Lawler and the T & R Grocery Store. She loved to cook for family gatherings and for her friends. Her favorite things to cook were fried chicken, kuchen and brownies.

She enjoyed playing cards at the Senior Center with her friends. Mary also enjoyed ice cream, reading, putting puzzles together and having coffee and pizza with her friends. She loved spending time with and hearing about her children, her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchild. She loved them all with her whole heart. Mary was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, the Christian Mothers and the Linton Senior Citizens.

Mary is survived by her children, Viola Krein, Sylvia (Jerry) Erdmann, Kenneth (Carol) Grinsteiner, Clinton (Peggy) Grinsteiner and Donn (Evelyn) Grinsteiner; her 11 grandchildren; her 12 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Mark in 2011; a daughter, Carol in infancy; a granddaughter, Lisa; her seven brothers and sisters and son-in-law, Gene Krein.
