Obituary

Mary Lacher, 91, Bismarck, formerly of Zeeland, ND, died Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at the Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center, Bismarck, ND. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 27, 2016 at Church of St. Anne, Bismarck, ND with Rev. Paul Eberle officiating. Burial will be at 5:30 p.m. Friday at St. Andrew's Catholic Cemetery, Zeeland, ND with lunch to follow at the church. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Buehler Larson Funeral Home, Mandan, ND where there will be a prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue for one hour before the funeral at the church on Friday.Mary was born March 15, 1925, the daughter of Franz and Barbara (Pfeifer) Hulm in Hague, ND. She grew up and attended school in Hague. Mary married Pius Lacher, Sr. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Hague, ND on July 8, 1946. They farmed and raised their family near Zeeland, until moving to Valley View Heights in 2008. Pius died October 14, 2013.Mary was a woman of deep faith. She loved to cook, especially for her kids. She also enjoyed playing cards. Spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren was a highlight for Mary and she lit up whenever they were around.Mary is survived by five sons and daughters-in-law, David and Marilyn Lacher, Moorhead, MN, Gerald and Lila Lacher, Lebanon, SD, Harold and Clara Lacher, Richland, WA, Pius Jr. and Gloria Lacher, Zeeland, and Allan and Judy Lacher, Bismarck; five daughters and four sons-in-law, Marian Constenius of Minneapolis, MN, Brenda and John Moss of Grayslake, IL, Beverly and Jerry Klym of Omaha, NE, Rhonda and George Leingang of Solen, ND, Michele and Robert Miller of Kansas City, KS and son-in-law, Francis Ziegler, Bismarck; 27 grandchildren and 45 great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Della Hulm, Bismarck and Delores Hulm Kramer, Strasburg, and many nieces and nephews.Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter, Juliana Ziegler, three sisters, Margaret Krumm, Maggie Eberle and Katie Feist, three brothers, Pius, Michael and Joseph as well as several nieces and nephews.
