Mary Alice Stoppler, 85, formerly of Linton, ND, died August 17, 2022 at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center, Bismarck, ND.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am, Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Linton with Reverend Mark Aune officiating.  Burial will be held at 3:00pm Tuesday at the ND Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.  Visitation will be held from 5 to 7pm Monday, August 22, 2022 at the Sannes Feist Family Funeral Home, Linton.  There will be a prayer service at 7pm. Visitation will continue for 1 hour before the services at the church on Tuesday.  A livestream of Mary Alice's funeral service will be available on the funeral home website under her obituary.

Mary Alice was born May 13, 1937 in Linton, ND, the daughter of John and Elizabeth Ann (Schmaltz) Bosch.  She attended country school in the Linton area.  Mary Alice worked at what is now the Linton Hospital, helping the nuns.  She married Frank Stoppler on July 19, 1955 at Rosenthal Catholic Church, Linton.  Following their marriage, they lived in Milwaukee, WI where Frank worked.  They decided to move back to Linton and took over the Bosch family farm.  Together, they farmed and raised their family.  Mary Alice was a homemaker, but you could often find her out baling and working alongside Frank.  They continued to work on the farm and later decided to purchase the Lumber Yard, which they ran until 1977.  Frank and Mary Alice farmed until they retired in 1993, they lived at the farm until moving into Linton in 1996 and purchased the Willows Motel.   Mary Alice worked at the Linton Hospital for many years as a housekeeper.  She retired in 2008.

She was a member of the Christian Mothers, The Catholic Daughter, the Linton Senior Citizen's and St. Anthony's Catholic Church, where she taught CCD for many years.  She also drove the headstart car for years.  Mary Alice enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, playing bingo, playing cards and dancing.  She especially enjoyed spending time with her friends and family.

She is survived by her sons:  Darrell (Sharmaine) Stoppler, of Bismarck, ND, Ken Stoppler of Strasburg, ND, David (Jodi) Stoppler of Minot, ND, Brad Stoppler of Moffit, ND, and Cavin Stoppler of Bismarck; daughter's:  Kathy Rex of Tampa, FL, Debra Stoppler of Linton, ND and Nellie (Wayne) Keller of Bismarck, ND;  a daughter-in-law: Danielle Stoppler of Linton, ND; 18 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Frank, son Donald and many brothers and sisters.
