Mary Walther, 86, Linton, ND, died Tuesday, October 23, 2012 in the Wishek Home for the Aged, Wishek, ND. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 27, 2012 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Linton, ND. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, October 26, 2012 at Myers Funeral Home, Linton, ND, where a prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour before services at the church on Saturday. Mary was born October 18, 1926 on a farm west of Linton, ND the daughter of Jacob H. and Magdalena (Vetter) Jangula. She attended country school. Mary married Edward "Eddie" Walther on November 18, 1946 at St. Mary's Catholic Church Rectory in Bismarck, ND. They made their home on a farm nine miles west of Linton, ND. In 1969 they moved into Linton. Mary cleaned houses and painted houses. Her greater passion was baking. She also enjoyed playing cards, crocheting, dancing and visiting with family and friends. Mary was a member of the Linton American Legion Auxiliary and the Christian Mothers. She is survived by one son, Leroy Walther, Linton, ND, one daughter, Julie Walther, Mandan, ND, one sister, Johanna Ohlhauser of Billings, MT as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 2001, three brothers, Jacob "Jakie", Henry and George (in Korean War) and one sister in infancy.
