Michael John "Mike" Paul, 58, of Linton, ND, died, January 29, 2024 in Yuma, AZ. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30am, Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Linton with Fr. Bruce Krebs officiating. Burial will be in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery. Mike was born on April 18, 1965 in Minneapolis, MN, the son of Leo and Janice (Senger) Paul. Mike lived in Coon Rapids, MN until 1969, when the Paul family moved back to Linton, ND. Mike was raised and educated in Linton and graduated from Linton High school in 1983. Following graduation, he worked at the Standard Station for about a year. His love was always farming, so he decided to go to work on the farm helping his dad. Mike continued to farm and ranch with his son, Eric until his death.
Mike met Shawna through various Paul family functions. They began dating in the spring of 1999. Mike and Shawna were married at Seeman Park in Linton on July 6, 2001. They built their life together in Linton with their 3 children. Mike and Shawna were married in the Catholic Church on July 6, 2023.
Mike and Shawna had many adventures together, Mike loved to travel. They spent many winters in Arizona and purchased a "winter" home in Yuma. Everyone was welcome to come to visit. Mike loved showing off the sights of Arizona, he loved to grill and entertain. Mike's life was full of adventure, he loved riding his Harley on bike runs and his ATV in the Yuma foothills. He was a huge fan of the Minnesota Vikings, attending many games and the NDSU Bison, heading to Frisco a time or two to watch his Bison bring home the trophy.
Material things didn't matter to Mike, what did matter was his faith, his family, his wife, his children and grandchildren. Mike was very proud of his children and grandchildren and enjoyed every minute spent with them. He loved to attend his son and daughter's activities and now watching his grandchildren brought him so much joy. He was a brother and a best friend. He will be remembered for his teasing, his siblings all knew he was "mom's favorite", as he would often joke. Mike was very generous with his time, his possessions and was always willing to help anyone in need and never expected anything in return.
Mike enjoyed his time in Arizona, but every spring, he was eager to head back to North Dakota to start calving and spring planting with Eric. He was a member of the Linton Lions Club and St. Anthony Catholic Church, where he started as a Mass server and continued as an usher. Mike was incredibly giving, kind and thoughtful. He lived life to the fullest. He will be missed by so many, especially his family, his friends and his morning coffee buddies.
Mike is survived by, his wife, Shawna, Linton, ND; son, Eric (fiancé Amanda) Paul, Linton, ND; daughters: Meghan (Justin) Karch, Bismarck, and Sarah (Levi) Jangula, Bismarck; grandchildren: Colt, Lainey, Gracie, Ava, Mia, Bryson and baby girl Jangula due in March; his mother, Janice Paul, Linton, ND; a brother, Brian (Maricela) Paul, El Centro, CA; sisters: Cindy (Wayne) Farr, Shelton, WA and Shelly (Bob) Fiest, Dawson, ND/Yuma, AZ and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many friends.
