Ottilia "Tillie" Schatz, 91 of Zeeland, ND died June 13, 2013 at her residence. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday June 18, 2013 at 10:30 AM at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Zeeland with Fr. Wenceslaus Katanga officiating. Interment will be held in the church Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from Noon 4:00 PM at Myers Funeral Home, Linton, ND and will continue at the church from 6:00 PM 8:00 PM with a prayer services at 7:00 PM. Ottilia "Tillie" Schatz was born May 22, 1922 on a farm near Hague, ND the daughter of Bernard "Ben" and Katherine (Sahli) Hulm. She attended a rural school and worked on the family farm. She married Leo Schatz on November 24, 1947 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hague. They lived, farmed, and raised their children on the family homestead where Leo was born and raised. They moved into Zeeland in the fall of 1989. Leo died May 31, 1997. Tillie enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church and St. Andrew's Christian Mothers. She is survived by seven sons and six daughters-in-law: Jim (Karen) Schatz, Mandan, ND, Ken (Ellen) Schatz, Oviedo, FL, Wayne Schatz, Mandan, ND, Richard (Sherry) Schatz, Bismarck, ND, Steve (Gale) Schatz, Red Bluff, CA, Dean (Kim) Schatz, Loveland, CO, Randy (Tammy) Schatz, Fargo, ND; two daughters and a son-in-law: Marilyn Schatz, Gilbert, AZ and Shirley (Adolph) Genz, Mandan, ND; fifteen grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter; two sisters: Mary Chikis, Aptos, CA and Charlotte Buechler, Hague, ND. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Leo; four sisters: Elizabeth Wolf, Barbara Snobeck, Lena Mosser, and Anna Schweitzer; three brothers: Peter Hulm, Walter Hulm and an infant Martin.
