Paulette Kathryn Gimbel, 65, Lincoln, ND, formerly of Linton, ND, passed away Sunday, October 2, 2016 at home after a courageous battle with cancer. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 6, 2016 at the United Methodist Church, Linton, with Pastor Marlin Sapp officiating. Inurnment will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday at the North Dakota Veteran's Cemetery, Mandan, ND. Paulette was born November 15, 1950 in Bismarck, ND to Arthur and Beulah (Nelson) Dockter. She grew up in Linton and graduated from Linton High School. On January 8, 1970 she married Terry Gimbel of Hazelton and they resided in Hazelton for a short time before moving to Linton, where they raised their family.Paulette had various jobs, but especially loved working with kids while an aide at the Linton Public School. Paulette was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, spending time with family and friends, and trips to the casino. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren and attending their activities.Paulette touched so many lives and her smile will never be forgotten. She enjoyed life and working with children. Sara Weninger, a former student, was like a granddaughter to her and held a special place in her heart.Blessed to have shared her life is her husband, Terry Gimbel, Lincoln; her two children and their spouses, Jamie (Sandy) Gimbel, Bismarck, Amy (Randy) Davis, Bismarck; 7 grandchildren; Jayden & Kaide Gimbel, Kayla, Ashley & Justin Fleck, Devan and Dawson Davis; two sisters, Janice (Richard) Smith, Linton, Goldie (Bill) Nerpel, Hickory Creek, TX; one brother, Dean (Judy) Dockter, Linton; her brother-in-law, Lesley (Dude) Gimbel, Hazelton; sister-in-law, Shelly (Shane) Flaagan, Tolna; and several cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.Paulette was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Wallace Dockter, a special sister-in-law, Barb Dockter, and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Beverly and Simon Gimbel.
