Pauline Schmidt, 90, Herreid, SD, died Monday, November 24, 2014 at the Good Samaritan Society, Selby, SD. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Herreid Baptist Church, Herreid, SD with Pastor Don Hill officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, Herreid, SD.Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Myers Funeral Home, Linton, ND with a prayer service at 4 p.m. Visitation will continue for one hour before service time at the church on Monday. Pauline Schmidt (Erbele) was born on May 27, 1924 the daughter of Andrew and Maria (Pfeifer) Erbele at Isabel, SD. She attended rural school there until she was in the 6th grade. She then moved to a farm north of Herreid with her parents, where she finished her elementary school and graduated from Herreid High School.Pauline married Alvin Schmidt on June 11, 1944 and they settled on a farm eight miles northeast of Herreid, SD. They retired from farming in 1977 and moved into Herreid, where she worked at the Good Samaritan Center as a Medication Aide for 21 years.Pauline attended the Herreid Assembly of God Church and was a member of the Women's Missionary Society. She loved to sing and participated in singing for many occasions. Pauline also enjoyed visiting her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.Pauline is survived by one daughter, Bernetta Rampsch, Burlington, Ontario, one son, Lauren, Roanoke, Virginia, two sisters, Christine Marzolf, Lodi, CA and Caroline Jarvi, Aberdeen, SD, four grandchildren, Dennis Goehring, Jayme Schmidt, Laura Schmidt and Jennifer Brookman and 8 great grandchildren, Hayle, Tristen, Dakota, Tucker, Michaela, Amanda, Jyrnee and Ryker, as well as many nieces and nephews.Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, her husband who passed away in 1992, an infant son, one sister, and one brother.
