Obituary

Pauline Wald, 89, Bismarck, ND, formerly of Linton, ND, died Monday, January 18, 2016, ten days before her 90th Birthday, at CHI St. Alexius Medical Center, Bismarck. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 23, 2016 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Linton. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. at Myers Funeral Home, Linton, with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 22. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the funeral mass, at the church on Saturday.Pauline (Bosch) Wald was born on January 28, 1926 in Emmons County to Ignatz and Melonia (Huber) Bosch of Linton, ND. She attended rural Wells District School through the eighth grade. She was raised on the family farm until she married Markus M. Wald on October 22, 1946, when she packed up and moved to his family farm near Napoleon, ND. Together they planted small grains and had a dairy and beef operation. She could often be seen on the top of a hay stack or milking her cows. After 34 years of farming, they retired and moved into their new home in Linton. In 2010 she moved to Marillac Manor in Bismarck, ND. Pauline loved crocheting, ceramics, sewing for her children and grandchildren, cooking and baking for her family, playing cards, square dancing with Markus and in later years, loved doing Word Searches and Jig Saw Puzzles. She had a great love of her Lord and attended daily mass and rosary as well as being a Eucharistic Minister. She was a member of Christian Mothers and Catholic Order of Foresters. Her love of her life, Markus, passed away on April 30, 1999. Together they had six children, Alden (deceased in infancy), Elmer (Norma) Wald, Pelican Rapids, MN, Victoria (Ron) Nagel, Ankeny, IA, Mary Lou Ohman, Fargo, ND, Fran (Neal) Mayer, Fargo, Cynthia (Gary) Becker, Bismarck. She is survived by her children, 13 grandchildren, Jason (Michele) Wald, Jessi (Jason) Fahje, Kyle (Sunny) Nagel, Blake (Jennifer) Nagel, Celeste (Tyler) Rawlins, Trent (Ashley) Ohman, Tara (Jon) Shilling, Nicole Leier, Shantell Mayer, Darren Becker, Derrick Becker, Dallas Becker, Denae (Mike) Monson; and 18 great grandchildren; three sisters, Helena Wald, Bismarck, Mary Weigel, Napoleon, and Christine Dorscher, Minot, ND; two sisters-in-law, Rose Bosch and Zita Kuss, both of Bismarck, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends at the Manor.Pauline was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Markus, her parents, Ignatz and Melonia Bosch, an infant son, Alden, three brothers, Peter Bosch, Wendelin (Viola) Bosch, Pius (Sharon) Bosch, sisters, Ann (Paul) Ebach, Ida (Baltzer) Weigel and brothers-in-law, Alois Weigel, Stanley Wald and Andy Dorscher.
