Peter F. Volk, 100, Hague, ND, died Sunday, April 11, 2010 in the Linton Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 16, 2010 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Hague, ND with Rev. Paul Eberle and Rev. Albert Leary Officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, April 15, 2010 at Myers Funeral Home, Linton, ND and from 6 p.m to 9 p.m. at the church in Hague, where a prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour before services at the church on Friday. Peter F. Volk was born on April 27, 1909, the son of Frank and Katherina (Miller) Volk on the family farm northwest of Hague, ND. He attended country school one mile west of the family farm. Pete lived and farmed with his parents until he married Mary Miller on October 28, 1947 at St. Marys Catholic Church, Hague, ND. Following their marriage, they continued to live on the family farm until moving into Hague, ND in 1984. He continued to help on the farm prior to and after selling it to his son, James, in 1986, until his health prohibited it. Pete enjoyed farming, reading, auction sales, tinkering with metal, horses, and spending time with family, especially grandchildren, and friends. Pete is survived by his wife: Mary of Hague, ND; three sons and two daughters-in-law: Jerome and Betty Volk of Dickinson, ND, James Volk of Hague, ND and Tim and Leann Volk of Linton, ND; seven grandchildren: Brian (Stephanie), Michael (Mandy), Christopher, Joseph, Sarah, Danielle and Samantha; four great grandchildren: Erika, Natali, Cody and Ella; and one sister-in-law: Maggie Volk of Bismarck, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, George, Frank, Bert and Matt and three sisters, Elizabeth Volk, Rose Vetter and Mary Zahn.
