Obituary

Phyllis Feist of St. Francis, WI died peacefully on September 20, 2025 at the age of 97.  Services will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Linton, with Fr. Mark Aune officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Phyllis was born on January 17, 1928, and grew up on a farm southwest of Linton, the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Richter) Wickenheiser where she attended a rural school.

On November 22, 1950, she married Clemens Feist at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Linton, ND and they made their home in St. Francis, WI where they raised their two daughters.

Phyllis loved spending time at her summer home at Beaver Bay in Linton, ND where she made Sunday dinner that always included soup for all her family and friends.  She was best known as Soup Nana to her great grandkids and also known for her "Sunday Soup".  Phyllis lived an extraordinary life filled with infinite love and compassion.  Though her time with us was a priceless blessing, she will forever be a treasured memory, as she was the vibrant heartbeat to the family.

Phyllis is survived by her two daughters, Patty Grutza and Cindy (Rick) Dynek.  Grandchildren, Steve (Julie) Grutza, Rick (Jennifer) Dynek and Cori (Rob) Bluma,  Great grandchildren, Dylan and Alexis Dynek and Mason and Jesse Grutza.  She is also survived by her brother, Michael Wickenheiser and five sisters, Johanna Schneider, Luella (Johnny) Nagel, Sister Andre' Wickenheiser, Adeline (Roy) Nagel and Carol (Leo) Bosch along with Sister-in-Laws, Viola Mikula and Bernice Wickenheiser and many nieces and nephews.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband and parents, father and mother-in-law, Peter and Elizabeth Feist, son-in-law, Guy Grutza, brothers, Andrew, Peter, William and Anton Wickenheiser, one infant sister, Phillippine; brother-in-law, Mike Schneider; sisters-in-law: Maggie Wickenheiser and Rose Wickenheiser.
