Obituary

Phyllis Claire Kelsch, 71, of Linton, ND passed away October, 28 2015 at CHI St. Alexius Hospital in Bismarck, ND.Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, rural Linton. Visitation will be held from 5-9 PM on Friday with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at Myers Funeral Home, Linton. Burial will be in the church cemetery.Phyllis was born on November 11, 1943 the second oldest child to Joseph and Anna Ripple of Huff, ND. Phyllis attended school until the 8th grade in Huff. She grew up and worked on the family farm near Huff. Later in life, while babysitting one day, she met the love of her life Leo Kelsch. It was an instant love and the couple married not long after in Bismarck on January 9, 1965. Together they moved to a farm east of Linton where she helped with all of the chores and was always willing to lend a helping hand to the neighbors. After Leo passed in 1998 she remained on the farm until she moved into town in 2007. In 2014, after major health issues, Phyllis entered the Strasburg Care Center. Phyllis enjoyed gardening, playing cards, and throwing darts. Her favorite pass time was painting ceramics. Most of all, Phyllis loved being a grandma. Phyllis was so proud of her children and grandchildren. She was a giver and a pleaser, always wanting to see the best in people. Phyllis is survived by her children, Frank (Brenda) Kelsch of Bismarck, Mary (Keith) Hehr of Jamestown, ND, Tim (Marlena) Kelsch of Linton, Jim (Kim) Kelsch of Linton, Patty (Corey) Essig of Gwinner, ND; 12 grandchildren, Tori, Desire' and Tyler Kelsch; Amanda (Rick) Sorenson, Chris and Matthew Dockter; McKenzie and Ryan Kelsch; Sierra and Brock Kelsch; Slatin and Logan Essig; 4 great grandchildren, Ian Sorenson, Cash, Kendall and Lane Dockter; 7 step grandchildren, Nicole, Miranda, Twyla, Mathew, Alissa, Megan, and Curtis; 2 brothers, Joe (Darlene) Ripple of Bismarck, and Carl Ripple of CO; 1 sister, Joann (Earl) Bethke of Puyallup, WA; and 2 brothers- in- law, Alex and Pius Kelsch, both of Bismarck.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leo; infant son, Francis; and infant granddaughter Elizabeth Kelsch.
