Ramona Heidrich, 90, of Strasburg, ND, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at the Linton Hospital.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Strasburg.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 25, 2018 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. with a rosary/vigil service at 7:30 p.m. at Myers Funeral Home, Linton.

Ramona was born on May 20, 1928, the daughter of Adam and Katherine (Feist) Holzer. She was raised on a farm west of Strasburg and was educated through the 8 ^th grade in a one-room school house. She was a farmer and homemaker for all of her life.

Ramona married Eugene Heidrich on Oct 26, 1948, at a church on the prairie named Holy Trinity, also known as Krassna Church. They were married by Father Selder. Together the couple raised two daughters, Mary and Laurdette, and they resided on the homestead farm of Ramona's parents located 12 miles west of Strasburg. They shared a marriage, which most could envy, with little argument or complaint from either partner. The couple worked together and worked hard throughout their lives. They retired in 1981 and moved to Strasburg in 1983 where they lived out the rest of their days. Eugene died on Dec 4, 1997.

Ramona was a member of St. Mary's Society and a member of Strasburg Senior Citizen.  Ramona was loved by so many and was known for her giving and kind soul. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, embroidery, and crocheting, among other crafts. Playing cards with her friends and family was a favorite past time. She especially liked to play Pinochle, with her grandkids always eager to be grandma's partner. She enjoyed polka, dancing, gambling, watching the news and watching game shows. In earlier retirement Ramona and Eugene enjoyed camping, fishing and wood-working together. Ramona loved being a mom, grandma and great-grandma. She always had a little one crawling into her lap, where they were welcomed with open arms. Ramona received the nickname "Cookie Grandma" as Grandma was sure to feed you cookies during a visit.

Ramona was very excited for her 90 ^th birthday party and worked hard preparing for it. Many friends and family were able to attend making it a memorable day. She greatly enjoyed the day and her family thanks all who attended, called and sent cards.

This special lady will be missed by so many.

Ramona is survived by her daughters, Mary Baumgartner, Strasburg and Lori (Jim) Carlson, Northwood, ND; grandchildren, Travis Baumgartner, Tracy (Steve) Butler, Tosha (Kyle) Nieuwsma, Rami (Jason) Topp, Devin Carlson and Casey Carlson; step grandchildren, Julie (Darren) Tveito, Jamie (Chris) Lawson and Jim Jr. (Mendi) Carlson, and their families; great grandchildren, Savanna and Brice Hulm, Jaylah Baumgartner, Riley and Bently Nieuwsma and the newest addition born on May 14, Nathan Eugene Topp; 3 sisters, Lillian Schwahn, Alvina Goldade and Kathy (Albert) Masset.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eugene; sisters, Hilda Holzer and Rose Wickenheiser; and brother, Aloysius Holzer.
