Randy (Cookie) was born to Valentine and Gloriann (Feist) Zacher on January 29, 1965, at Linton Hospital. He grew up on the family farm with three brothers and four sisters. He graduated from Strasburg Public High School in 1983. After graduation Randy attended Bismarck State College for carpentry.

He worked for the Strasburg Lumber Company for many years and then decided to branch out on his own where he became self-employed doing flooring. Randy was a hard worker and a perfectionist about his work. His flooring skills were sought by many who wanted their flooring installed correctly and competently. Randy was a whiz at math and could always easily figure out math problems in his head which helped him in his line of business. He employed his nephews and inspired his nephew Matt to follow in his footsteps. In recent years Randy worked for Matt with his construction business.

Randy had a love for snowmobiling and was a member of the Beaver Valley Sno-Goers Snowmobile Club. He enjoyed going on trips with friends to various locations in the mountains. He took numerous trips to Deadwood, WE Fest and many sporting events with friends and family. He enjoyed watching all kinds of sports, but always had a special place in his heart for the Seattle Seahawks and the Minnesota Twins.

Randy frequently made red eye for family events. He introduced everyone to new flavors beyond burnt sugar, creating dreamsicle, mudslide, pina colada, and rootbeer. Every member of the family decided they had a favorite and Randy tried to make sure to accommodate everyone. He even passed on the skill to the next generation.

Randy enjoyed life and would want everyone to do the same. It is through our memories, our thoughts, and the many moments that we will always remember his smile, his laugh, and his noticeable opinions. And if you knew him, you know that he definitely had strong opinions especially when he thought he was right – even correcting officials when watching sports on TV. His spirit, soul and essences are with everyone that knew him. He would want everyone to know that he is free of pain and is being held lovingly in the arms of God.

Randy is survived in life by his mother Gloriann Zacher; siblings, Donna (Gary) Anderson of Bismarck, ND; Bernie (Steve) Schaeffer of Beulah, ND; Dennis Zacher of Strasburg, ND; Sandy (Jerry) Heck of Bismarck, ND; Shar (Darold) Martin of Bismarck, ND; Ron (April) Zacher of Byron, MN; and Darnell (Jenny) Zacher of Bismarck, ND; and many nephews, nieces, and other family and friends.

Randy is preceded in Heaven by his dad Valentine Zacher and grandparents, John and Maryanna Zacher and Anton and Elizabeth Feist.
