Raymond Hoff, 66, Bismarck, ND, died peacefully Friday, August 1, 2014 at his daughter's home in Linton, ND, with family.Raymond Daniel Hoff was born February 6, 1948 to Fred and Amanda (Heyne) Hoff in Linton. He grew up on the farm and attended county school. Throughout his life he was a carpenter, building many pole barns and houses. He also spent his life working on the farm and no one could hoist square bales quite like him.He married Jean Jorgensen and in their 18 years together they had 5 children.Raymond was an avid gardener and talented woodworker, creating cabinets, signs, wishing wells, and birdhouses, to name a few. He knew his way around the kitchen from cooking to baking to canning. With any project he started he took pride in completing it from start to finish.Raymond is survived by 4 children, Linda Hoff (Andy Wald) of Linton, Brenda Hoff (Jim Jacobson) of Fargo, ND, Jackie Hoff (Matt Snell) of Fargo, and Raymond Hoff Jr. of Wahpeton, ND; 5 grandchildren, Erica, Aaron, Ryan, Skyler and Corey Hoff-Wald all of Linton; 1 sister, Loretta Kading of Sioux Falls, SD; 1 brother, Melven Hoff of Bismarck; special friend, Doris Benedict of Bismarck; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Sandy; and brother, Alfred.Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at Peace Lutheran Church, Linton, ND.Visitation will be from 5-9:00 p.m. Monday, August 4, 2014 at Myers Funeral Home in Linton, and will resume one hour prior to the funeral service, at the church.
