Raymond was born on November 18, 1930 at his grandparents' farm, south of Linton, to Anton and Regina (Volk) Senger. He was raised on a farm, east of Linton. He attended country grade school and graduated from Linton High School. Ray was the oldest of 5 children.
After high school, Ray worked on the Garrison Dam; with all his extra shifts he was able to save enough money for a new car. Ray then joined the United States Air Force in October 1951. During the Korean war he was stationed at a base in Germany where he was an airplane mechanic. During Ray's deployment he met the love of his life, Margarete M. Morcinek, who worked on the base where he was stationed. They married on May 26, 1955 in the base chapel.
Ray and Margarete later returned to Emmons County after he was discharged in 1956, where they farmed and ranched east of Linton and raised their 5 children. In 1990 they moved to Linton.
Ray was a lifetime member of the American Legion, Charter member of the Knights of Columbus and instrumental in combining the Linton and Rural fire departments. Ray was never afraid of hard work, which he instilled in his children. He was very proud of the farm that he established. Ray enjoyed hosting family, bowling, playing cards, traveling and being in the country. Ray married Jane (Roehrich) on September 30, 2016.
Ray is survived by his wife Jane (and family), three children, Alan (Dawn) Senger, Randal Senger, Sonja Graber (Vern Bender), daughter-in-law Lorraine Senger, six grandchildren, Rob (Angela) Senger, Kayla Crawford, Ashlee (Zach) Fettig, Kyle (Alicia) Graber, Luke (Josie) Senger, Lisa (Brandon) Slaughter, 16 great grandchildren, three siblings, Alice Schumacher, Diane Read, Art Senger, and sister-in-law Lenore Kaseman.
He was proceeded in death by his wife, Margarete, his parents, two sons, Bryan, and Warren, two grandchildren, Jay Senger and Terra (Senger) Mattheis, and one brother, Edward.
